Project Description:
This project requires someone or a team to build a price comparison website, like how http://www.pricegrabber.com or shopzilla.com looks and works
The winning freelancer must:
Demonstrate that they have already built similar sites
Can demonstrate and create scraping agents to retrieve pricing information regular for 10 to 100+ websites (The pricing on the websites change daily, the website display 5-10 days worth of pricing and there could be as many as 40-100 different price variations per product), also (I would prefer the bidder to use a scraper like Mozenda so it would be easy to manage after the project) therefore the freelancer must understand database management, and search/query know how
Can offer consultative advice throughout the project
The website must collect consumer data (e.g. sign up for newsletter) and send a customised enewsletters once a week (this can be phase 2 if required)
Integrate Google maps as a search feature to help the consumer narrow down the search
We are starting from scratch and therefore I am looking for consultative advice on hosting, database management SQL or MySQL, PHP, ASP, .NET etc, web design, price comparison scripts, eMarketing, CRM
The winning bidder will be required to provide a rational plan of how they intend to deliver the project and include accurate time scales, stages and recommendations.
You or a member of your team must have project management skills and the main communicator must have excellent English
