Project Description:
Dear Freelancers,
I have been approached by a friend who needs a website building, she doesn't have a large budget so is trying to keep the site as simple as possible and add various parts to it in the future. I'm here trying to get some quotes for her. The website must be professional and easy to use. The name of the site will be www.theshowsecretary.co.uk. If you should have any questions please ask.
Here is the brief:
When someone wishes to compete in a horse show the first thing they need to do is to find the shows. As it currently stands there is no ‘one place’ to find out all the information. This is where my website comes in. The aim is to have a website that stores all the horse shows that are going to be of interest. The basic structure will be a front end, a back end admin section and a database. The admin section will allow me to add all the data and the front end will allow our visitors to display the information contained within.
Long term I’d like to be able to allow our visitors to upload their own information however, but for the time being I will be entering all the information myself and the visitors will only be able to view the front end.
I will be proving a basic design of the web site as a PSD file.
You will be expected to create the front end, the back end and the database. I will provide the field names that I will need included in the database.
The database structure will be as follows: (These are the table names and will contains varying amounts of fields)
EVENT
CATEGORY OF QUALIFIER
SECTIONS
SUB SECTIONS
There will be a number of CATEGORIES for each EVENT
There will be a number of SECTIONS for each CATEGORY
There will be a number of SUB SECTIONS for each SECTION
The main way the viewer will look for the shows will be via a page where they select the EVENT. Then page will then show them the available CATEGORIES that are inside and they will select one. The page will then show them the SECTIONS in the selected CATEGORIES, etc, etc. Once they have nailed it down to a SUB SECTION the record information for that show will appear.
There will also need to be various ways to searching the database for the required record.
I look forward to hearing from you all with some quotes.
My kindest regards
Richard Georgiou
