I m using a wordpress plugin that posts hundreds of blog comments per day for SEO purpose. this plugin can handle multiple campaign, each having its own cron that s executed every 15 mn
PROBLEM: its using way too much CPU on my server
Basically, the plugin, from what i understand loads a blog list of several thousands urls, visit each url, posts a comment, the download a local copy of the site (seems like its only storing the html file not the images) in a temporary file and the cron checks if the comment was approved or not according to the plugin settings. then a report is sent to my customer email with all urls having an approved comment.
ive been using this plugin for several month with any big issue but im starting to increase my number of campaigns because i have more customers for SEO. however its causing issues right now with my host (hostgator) its using too much CPU, causing the server to over load, and my host already suspended my account until i get that fixed.
so im sure we can optimize the script, so that it doesnt need to download so much data to check if a link is approved for instance, or we can optimize the sql storing, or anything... i actually dont know thats why i need an expert who will be able to handle that and fix the plugin.
i have a reseller account right now at Hostgator, and im spreading all my customers campaigns on different wordpress installed in several accounts. it solved the issue a little bit. but all my sites together are using more than 25% of the whole server.
i would like to avoid paying too much for a dedicated server so i d like to see if someone can understand how the script works, and help me fix it
