I have a multiple page order form that needs troubleshooting. It's for ordering wound care supplies. It can be seen at http://nrgdzines.com/woundcare. The code needs to be thought out differently, not just debugged. The form captures information into a different table for each form screen. Then an order summary page displays some of the order information as the user provides their email and submits their order. One of the problems is not having a common ID. The order summary was returning wrong values because it was using the same record number set on the patient info screen. For example, the most recent entry for one table was record number 8, but since the other table did not have a record 8, it came back blank. What's needed is a contstant value, like an IP address, or an order number assigned initially to establish the same record number across all tables as the ID for user's entry. Basically like you would expect any order form to do. Another problem was blank names on the confirmation email also due to inconsistent ID references.
The original developer came up with the code in place now. I went ahead and set up just one table for all user input. That way there can be no inconsistency with which record is being pulled for order summary and history. It makes sense for the form to feed to a separate table that is purged when a visitor closes the window, but transfers the information first to a permanent record table if an order is actually placed.
Another thing that needs to be addressed is the ability to order more than one item under "Product Selection" and also to be able to add up to 4 more wounds if necessary. Also need to display order history.
So that's basically, it. I need this form to take orders, send out a confirmation email (already does), allow for multiple wounds/products, and allow users to look up order history.
I'm hoping someone can take care of this in a day or two. Thanks for bidding.
