Hello, my name is Daniel Argil Aguilar and this is my pitch
The site is intended to be a community website for people who like watching, playing and designing strategy games (both virtual and board based). There are several sites dedicated to a single game or two, but as a user, I could not find a single website dedicated to the entire genre and sub-genres. So that sparked the idea of tapping into that niche and fulfilling my needs as an user because I saw the need for such a site.
The idea is also partially inspired by this particular site:

The website linked above is dedicated to everything related to fighting games. It has articles, newsfeeds, podcasts, videos, discussion forums and streams for live events that anyone can access for free. While all this is nice, it leaves out two crowds to some extent: the competitive gamer and designers. The site mainly focuses on the consumer or casual players and it would be this site's mission to provide something for those additional demographics.
This site will need to be built from scratch, meaning the logo, forum skins and well, everything needs to be done and it's not just a programming position that is needed. Here are the bare-bone needs I immediately foresee the site needing:
-A main page that serves as a directory for the most recent additions to the site.
-An image gallery.
-A page to sort all video content producer by the site and associates. Hosting is not needed, it is expected that we will host these elsewhere, but a thumbnail gallery and easy embedding into articles are expected.
-A page for streaming. Most site-related streaming will probably be done on [url removed, login to view] but I wanted something like a catalog that tells people which official site streams are up.
-A calendar/event page for schedules related to the games or site events.
-A content manager for publishing/editing articles, categorizing videos, uploading images to the gallery and posting events.
-A customized forum with different skins for the main sub-forums we'll need for the core games*.
-An "About Us/FAQ/Contact Us page.
In addition to those, I would like a way to create game sub portals. [url removed, login to view] has its own wiki with strategies and information about its core games, but I wanted to do something more closely tied to the site.
*Core games: These are the currently most popular games for each sub-genre and they will be the main focus of content to drive traffic into the site. The current tentative lineup is:
Turn-Based Strategy: PoxNora, The Battle for Newerth
Real-Time Strategy: Starcraft II, Age of Empires Online
Action Real-Time Strategy(AKA MOBA): League of Legends, Defense of the Ancient 2
Trading Card Game: Magic the Gathering Online, Urban Rivals
So those games will need a page set up for launch, but I wish for it to be set up so I can add as many custom game pages on my own through a content manager later on. These pages are going to be the main reason for people to visit the site, and they need their own mini portal sites that redirect to a game overview, a guides section and sometimes even directory of all cards/characters in the game. Some examples of this can be found here:

That website provides a lot of stat-specific information ripped from the game that is updated and just like that site, several do the same but I do not wish for this site to compete with those single game centric ones in that area. All I wish is for people to sort through the site content that they want to find for the games that have hundreds of characters or cards in a dynamic manner.
I am still undecided about the way the gallery and video sections will be handled, but I want the forums to have several sub-forum specific skin packs. Feel free to ask for any other specifics.

When you make a bid, I would like you to explain to me why you feel that budget is needed for this project. I will not consider any applications that don't provide this rationale.
