Project Description:
The fishermad application is a social network site for fisherman. It provides the standard social networking capabilities of friend connections, extended profiles, discussion forums, private messaging, photo/video sharing and content management. Fisherman use the site to record their own catches, review other people’s catches, discuss their fishing techniques and upload pictures of the fish they have caught.
The website is twined with an Iphone app which gives the user remote access to the site. The app allows them to register (if they have not done so already) to record their own catch (photos and details) and search details of other peoples catches.
For fast implementation the website should employ a free open source social networking template. Such as Pligg,Elgg,KickApps, mixxt etc
The Iphone app complements the fishermad website by providing remote access to the site and allowing the user to take and upload pictures. It has a subset of the functionality that is available on the website.
Iphone can be used to register a user, enter details of fish caught and to search for fish catches. Data is sent to and retrieved from the website database.
