9. Configure a “User Account” capability where a complete profile can be inserted (similar to the profile at [url removed, login to view]), and you have “Travel Functions” to A) Create A New Trip, B) Add New Day to Existing Trip, C) Add Media to Library (which can then be inserted into New Trip or New Day or Existing Trip (edit, modify, add or change existing trips)
10. Configure a “Travel Resources” section which compiles a list of best hotels (B&B’s, motels, home exchanges, etc.), restaurants, food resources (local markets, cooking classes, recipes, tv shows, etc.) and Airfare Price Comparison sites (Kayak, Orbitz, TravelZoo, Priceline, Hotwire, etc.)
11. Configure standard “Policies”, “Terms & Conditions”, “Rules of the Road” for the overall site by pulling from other travel sites for disclaimers and conditions.

We have completed some initial research on travel blog websites, so here is the list

We could just buy and install a template as well. So you will need to evaluate whether it is better, faster, cheaper and then just customize it for our purposes.

I like the “first fold” upper portion of the template at [url removed, login to view] and the “bottom fold” lower footer portion of both [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] and the background image in the middle content section of [url removed, login to view] So that is where I’d start from a design standpoint.
