Princeton Mind (PM) is a newly founded social enterprise built on a passion for revitalizing peoples' ambitions and guiding them in the pursuit of their aspirations. PM began its initiative with ground-level research of the long unsolved problem of social stigma faced by disadvantaged people, such as dropouts and ex-offenders, and the insidious effects it has on their often failed attempt to reintegrate back into society. With research headed by PM’s Founder and former Managing Director, Dr. Kaiwen Leong—four-time JC dropout turned academic, economist, and entrepreneur—PM developed innovative and simple solutions as an attempt to tackle this socially integral problem.
PM’s attempt has shown to be a success having started with “Get Funded to be Your Own Boss”, a programme for ex-offenders to become entrepreneurs. Since its inception, PM has changed the lives of many including Balamurukan, the first student to successfully raise funds to start his own food business. The program has since received interviews by The Straits Times. In November 2012, PM incorporated ‘Got Food’, a social enterprise that will hire ex-offenders to give them a new lease of life. The media has also caught eye of PM when volunteers of PM were interviewed for helping transform ex-gambler into university student/author in the Straits Times and Shin Min.
