To build the initial site in Sitefinity will include developers building:
§ 5 HTML templates + 20 sub templates
§ Template insertion into Sitefinity
§ Navigation / sitemap / breadcrumbs
§ 10 sections, with different look and feel but will use the same set of layouts for section homepages and article pages where possible
§ Homepage with rotating carousel graphic and links to each of the sections in the site
§ Articles added by Journalists using Sitefinity back-end - no bespoke functionality required here but minimal customisation of SF back-end may be required. While defining certain fields as mandatory / non-mandatory may in fact be possible, enforcing a minimum/maximum number of words may not be possible (requires further discussion)
§ Front-end articles listing and details screens will require a bespoke component to be built. Articles will contain associated image galleries / video galleries
§ There will be a list of associated articles in every article page
▪ Integration with Brightcove using API - enables journalists to upload videos to Brightcove via Sitefinity and obtain a video embed code which can be used in articles. Requires Brightcove Professional subscription. The cost we have given includes integration using the API. Subscription costs for Brightcove will be charged separately (by brightcove_) and can be found here - http://www.brightcove.com/en/online-video-platform/editions-and-pricing
§ Users can comment on articles after registering / logging in and the comments can be moderated via the back-end
For the affiliate shopping features we recommend simply including links containing affiliate codes to the third-party shopping sites. This will minimise the implementation costs and utilise the standard affiliate tracking approach followed by many such providers. We will however need to further explore what the providers indicated offer with regards such services.
