An database-driven information website

Project Description:
We are looking at developing a PHP/MySQL based website and the front end will make use of CSS/AJAX.
This website will list products/offers and is a purely informational website. No payment gateway would be required since no transactions would be required.

Front End

•It will have a front end that will display products based on daily popularity (i.e. number of daily clicks received).
Header area will consist of the primary navigation, secondary navigation, Search box, Advanced Search button, links to login
The site will have a primary navigation and a secondary dropdown navigation. The primary navigation will allow users to browse by Category, Brands, Cards
The home layout will most probably be a grid style layout with a slider banner on top.
Other pages, will have a grid layout with filters on the left to allow users to drill down to their specific products
On the category page when a user clicks on a box, he will go to the product page
The offer box on home page will display an image with info regarding the likes, dislikes and comments. And it will also have title text displayed with more info displayed on hover
Category, Brands and Cards will have an almost similar layout (most probably grid style)
Right pane of the pages will be used to display Google and other ads
A contest page will have a slightly different layout that will allow a user to upload a large image with some rich text below it. Other contests will be shown in a horizontal scroll below it.
The site will also have a blog to allow multiple users to post articles. A super user can create multiple users who can write blogs
The site admins should also have the ability to manually place/position the offers/product boxes

The product/offer details page will have to following features ...
o Display of image as a banner
o Below this image we will have social media links, Add product to Wishlist button
o There will be 3 tabs below the social links - More Info | Store Locator | T&C
o More info will display title 1, title 2, description
o Store Locator tab will display list of stores by selecting from a dropdown list
o T&C will list the long terms and conditions in plain text
o Below the tabs, we will have a place where logged in users can enter their comments
o Below the tabs, we will have a place to display related products



Back End

We will have three logins ...

- End User Login
- Sales Login (To upload only about products)
- Admin Login (To control users, sales and site layout)


End User login

A simple login that will let a user manage his profile info, check saved products and products liked/commented

Sales Login

Will be able to manage sales profile, upload products, get reports on own product uploaded
This login can also activate/deactivate products/offers, schedule product publishing, edit and add products


Admin Login

Will manage users, sales logins
Can activate/deactivate, schedule product publishing, edit and add products
Can pull up all kinds of reports with also option of exporting to excel
