I have the PHPBB version 2.0.22. and i want some sort of spam protection against bots, i have bots that sign up on my forum and spam.My suggestion is that you modify it so i can add banned "words" for the fields where you register a new forum account and gives them a message that its not allowed to use that word in that field.
this is just my suggestion, if you have any better suggestions tell me and maybe we can use your suggestions instead.

I can create a script that will automatically generate a number in a picture. In that Picture I will add random lines and dots, so no BOT algorithm will be able to interpret it..... Humans will be able to interpret it and complete the exact number in the textbox. Only if the number is correct, the user will continue to registering. This method is used in many Big sites.
