Project Description:
This should be easy, but I'd rather pay a few dollars to an expert than spend all day Googling it! Here's my problem: I have a home network with several computers attached to it using a D-Link router. One of the boxes has Windows 2000 Pro + php + mysql + apache, which I'll call WAMP. My other computer is a laptop running XP that I'll call LAPTOP. (The other computers are just regular desktops used by the kids, the wife, etc.) How do I access the WAMP server from my browser? In other words, I want to be able to execute the PHP files or PERL files on the WAMP box, run PhpMyAdmin, etc. just as if they were any other remote files on the internet. I assume - correct me if I'm wrong - I need to assign an IP address to the WAMP box and then I can just use that in my browser line, like... http://192.168.x.x/script.php But what I don't get is... a) how do you set up an IP address on the WAMP computer so that other computers in the network can access it this way; b) what folder/directory becomes the "localhost" when I access the computer this way? Is it the C harddrive? In other words, if my scripts are located in C:/php/scripts, do I have to go to http://192.168.x.x/php/scripts/xyz.php? So I guess what I'm looking for is someone to walk me through the process, preferably today. Thanks.
