This question goes to extremely experienced and talented programming companies only:
We are looking to make a search engine that functions in the same way as Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. But much, much simpler.
The program will need to be able to crawl the entire web as fast as possible by following links from site to site.
At its most basic level, the program must store the URL of every page it crawls, and it must store the URLs of every page linking to that URL, as well as the link text (anchor text) of each link pointing to that page. This is a mammoth project and I estimate it will take $100,000+ to complete.
However, I know that the founders of Google managed to develop and application like this when they started up (including hardware costs) for much less than $100,000.
I would like to know what is required to complete an application like this? What hardware will be required? Hard drive space, internet connection, computing power, and so forth.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
