Golf Club Network is a key product in the portfolio of leading marketing company, Gemini Network Media. It offers cost effective, flexible and easy to manage website and email marketing solutions to golf clubs currently but with ambitions to roll out in other sports club markets.
We want clubs to know that by choosing a Golf Club Network website, they get an online solution that stands the test of time. A product that offers them access to design and feature updates on a regular basis and does what every website should, a great marketing job that helps them drive and improve their business.
Golf Club Network websites are currently an extremely cost effective online solution with a very simple to use CMS system which allows golf clubs to effectively manage and update their own website content and conduct their own email marketing campaigns. Two typical examples can be found at

However, the software is now dated in design and built by an in house development team five years ago is difficult to support. The company is due to roll out a tee time booking and marketing system and to complement this wishes to upgrade Golf Club Network to a WordPress solution, retaining many of the existing features, but allowing for future growth and development and easy support, plus the cost effective transfer of more than 250 websites.
We need to host and manage the content of a varied collection of websites, operated often by golf club volunteers with varying levels of technical skills on one simple to use system. The solution firstly needs to be quick and easy for an account manager to create a new golf club website, based on a template, without any technical knowledge. And secondly for golf clubs to be able to operate and use their website to its fullest extent. We also need to be confident if offers the best in design and SEO within a template format.
A wide knowledge of WordPress plug ins is essential to this project and also the ability to create ‘bespoke’ plug ins to ensure we are providing the same level of functionality as currently to our clients.
For example, at the heart of the new development required is a diary function. This will need to be PHP interfaced which will then enable it to talk to other systems such as membership management and tee time booking system
The website solution also ultimately needs to integrate with third party software suppliers through APIs including our own club membership management and bulk email marketing solutions and tee time booking software. This should enable seamless administration on the user’s behalf.
We are now seeking to outsource the rebuild of our platform to a company specialising in Wordpress development. The process needs to be quick, cost effective and once in place, easy to maintain and grow with the demands of our business and our clients. The partner company or individual will also be asked to provide support for the solution and upgrades, additional templates and new functionality as required. It should be noted that the solution needs to be cost effective and competitively priced for our customers in a competitive market. It should seek therefore to use existing functionality/plug-ins wherever possible.
