We got a Ruby on Rails application that need a new look. The actual design is already complete. Left to do is to create views that look like the attached drafts. There is no or very little logic to be implemented, so we are looking for a talented web designer rather than a RoR coder. However, previous experience with Ruby On Rails is a must (please include at least one URL to a RoR site with views created by you). ## Deliverables Views must be created with the DRY principle in mind. Common pieces should be put in partials and included where needed. All style information should be put in a CSS-file. The generated HTML pages should validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict (UTF-8), without errors with the W3C validator. Same thing goes for the generated CSS file. All pages should render correct in Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2/3 and Safari 41. We will supply you with a zip-file containing the current Ruby On Rails application. This application should be modified and sent back to us. You should not create a new application, but preserve the current structure as far as possible. **Top menu** All pages should have the same top menu, as seen in “3. [login to view URL]?. The menu items should be text, not images. The currently selected menu item should be highlighted in orange. At the index page, all menu items are black. **Copy** The web site copy that should be used can be found in the PSD-file (see attached ZIP-file). The site is entirely in Swedish, but you’ll be able to complete this job without any Swedish knowledge. Note: The copy used in the drafts might differ slightly from the PSD file, but you should always use the PSD as source! **Banners** Most pages have three banner slots located at the bottom or to the right of the page. These banners should be rendered by a call to a render_banner helper method (implemented by you). This method should take three arguments: the background image, the main URI and an optional second URI. If the second URI is specified, a two button layout should be used. Clicking on the banner itself, or on the right button, takes the visitor to the first URI. Clicking on the left button takes the visitor to the second URI. The actual HTML for these two kinds of banners should be put in partials. It’s ok to use a dummy banner on all locations. We’ll change them later. The important thing is that the dimensions and button locations are correct and that we easily can change them later. **Web shop** Our current web shop should be put into the new layout. Headers should be changed to match the new orange look, but the actual content (and logic) should be preserved (see [login to view URL]). Also note that the font should be changed to Arial (but this should happen atomagically with the new site CSS).
