Access to Microsoft Navision data (Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1) from PHP

Hi,
our company uses Microsoft Navision ERP (Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1) and we would like to access the Navision data from some PHP scripts in our LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) webserver. We want the access to be through an standard API (Webservices, etc.) and not a direct access to the database.

For now, we are just looking for a proof of concept, allowing us to access from PHP and retrieve basic reports for a given user (expenses, work orders, etc.) Then we will ask for further help to integrate Navision data in our PHP applications.
