Project Description:
The project is to create a website similar in functionality to mobile-phones.co.uk or mobiles4everyone.com.
We already have software (pricetapestry) to parse data into a database, but the main problem is that it is not standard. For example, a mobile phone on the "Orange Racoon" priceplan could be marked as "orangeracoon1", "orange_racoon" or "o_racoon-1-12m" on different feeds.
Your solution would recognise that these are all on the same priceplan (obivously the admin would enter the filters) and assign the correct priceplan in our priceplan table. For more information please see the attached document.
The project is mostly PHP/MYSQL, but there will also be some AJAX. We would prefer to outsource the project to somebody experienced in both fields, but will consider applicants only experienced in PHP and outsourcing the AJAX seperately.
The attached document provides a background to the problems and possible solutions, but was not written by a database expert - we are more than happy for you to design the database more efficiently as long as functionality is the same.
