*** REQUIREMENTS: SERVICE PROVIDER MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH WORDPRESS ***
I have this custom field (postmeta) called "votes", which records the number of votes that each post received from my readers. (I use it to meter the popularity and quality of these posts.)
In my search page I would like to have this dropdown list (see attachment) that should filter specific values on search queries.
Example: if user selects an option from the dropdown menu for "more than 5 votes" then it should not display posts with less than 5 votes on the search query.
NOTE: there is a good plugin that does half of this job: http://urbangiraffe.com/plugins/search-unleashed/
If you can make this plugin work according to my needs I'll be happier, because I really like using it.
In short words, there will be 3 search filters:
*** WHERE TO SEARCH ***
- Title & Content/body; [default]
- Title only;
- Content/body only.
*** VOTES FILTER (postmeta/custom field) ***
- Show all posts, no matter the number of votes; [default]
- Show only posts with more than 5 votes;
- Show only posts with less than 5 votes.
*** SORTING OPTIONS ***
- Most relevant first; [default]
- Most recent first;
- Oldest first;
- More votes first.
A working demo is expected. If you have doubts please let me know.
