Project Description:
I have a website hosted by www.gkg.net at www.internetbizwhiz.com. I would like to have a tell a friend script created to be served by my web host, with the following features:
- a link at the website brings up a pop-up
- the pop up looks like my internetbizwhiz site
- in the pop up, the visitor enters their first name, last name, their own email address and up to 3 email addresses of their friends and personal message
- clicking send means the email they wrote is sent to their friends from their email address, and
- a copy of their email sent to themselves with a note from me saying thank you and a link which contains my gift to them, and
- a copy of the email gets sent to me so i know the tool is being used
- the email that gets sent to the friends auto fills a spot for the website being referred
- also i'd like for the subject line to be fill-out-able by the referrer, but if they don't fill it out, that it defaults to text i specify
- once the submit button is sent, i'd like the pop up to change to a 'thank you for referring your friend(s)' page
that's basically it. i know there are a lot of tell a friend scripts out there, but i don't want one with ads. and i want one where i can customize the text in the pop ups, as well as in the emails. i will be offering a bonus pdf file for people who refer.
note: i am fairly web savvy, but am weirdly clueless about some things, so you will want to know that
- i have no idea how to upload a script to my server, so i will give you my ftp info once it is done, and ask you to upload it.
- i will want to be able to learn how to do that because i want to eventually use this same script at one or two other sites.
- i will ask your help to tell me how to edit the html look of the pop ups as well
basically i am wanting you to empower me to fully use this script to the fullest extent. i know that might be a pain to you but it is what i am looking for.
if perl/cgi is not the best for this script, that is fine, as long as you can look at my web host and tell me that my web host can handle the language, i don't mind much.
that said, i am not an idiot, so this is not something where you can tell me you want to charge me an arm and a let okay? i am a small business owner and will give you more business if it works out, but i do have a budget.
the look and feel of the pop ups will be extremely simple, so not a ton there. oh and i need it fast! can you do it by tuesday??
