We are looking for inking work for the first 50-page issue from a graphic novel series.

The style must keep to the one established in existing studies and sketches and partially inked pages.

Samples of un-inked pages are available below (JPGs numbered page1 through page4). All of the pages will need to be cleaned up and inked *without* word bubbles. Word bubbles will be placed later by an in-house provider.

[url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], and [url removed, login to view] show the approximate level of quality we will be expecting. We are looking for crisp lines with solid areas of black and white. The overall mood should be dark and violent. There should be a balance between crisp lines, crosshatching, shades, and gradients, with liberal use of motion lines to indicate action. Action will be very prevalent in the series.

Backgrounds, skies, and clothing will need to be elaborated upon, as appropriate given the particular panel composition (clouds, armor scaling, tiled floors, brick walls, rugs or wall coverings, etc.).

Directional lighting should remain consistent throughout a particular scene.

The booklet will eventually need to be colored (as a separate project), and any individual or studio with coloring experience will be favored to execute both this and the followup projects. In the same vein, 4-5 additional issues of similar length are planned for the series and this additional work (Black and White and Color for each issue) will be available to those involved in successfully completing this first issue.

Please see [url removed, login to view] for a preview of the series.

Final deliverables should be layered .PSD files.

Please include a link to your portfolio. Please demonstrate high-quality illustration experience (manga or comic style with inking) in your portfolio.

Please have excellent English skills, preferably fluent.

Thank you.
