Assessment task The recent scandal with Horsemeat being found in process meat pies has highlighted a problem for all process foods that are available in the UK high street shops.
Your task is to select a processed product* and study the supply chain for all the ingredients found on the list** Then submit a report that details your findings for the distribution and supply chain for each of the components list
* A Processed product is one that has multiple ingredients brought together by a food processing company. The majority of ready meals and other packaged meal products would be suitable. If in doubt check with the seminar tutor.
** The report should include a good quality copy of the ingredients list printed on the product packaging.
