We have a custom built Django site that is having major performance issues. There is an admin template that clients log-in to where they can submit several different types on data for an event. One of these templates is loading several different models and the queries that it is generating are hammering our database and causing us problems.
The data being loaded onto the template is:
Artworks uploaded by the gallery
Related Artists to the gallery
Offsite Exhibitions related to the gallery
The source of the bottleneck has been traced back to the Related Artists model which is running hundreds of SQL queries each time the page loads. We would like someone to either optimise the query that pulls this data or put the Related Artists information into a separate AdminModel so that load times are at least reduced across the sections.
Attached is a screenshot from Django Toolbar showing average load time (5k ms) as well as samples of the queries are being run.
