Project Description:
Finish dbase project for tracking small inventory as books come in and go out. Bar-coded books are scanned into a text file with an existing third-party iPhone app and sent via email attachment to Mac OSX desktop mail. The user will drag and drop the attached file onto the target PYTHON application, which launches it, causes it to read the latest inventory .xls file, lookup in the in-house Hal Leonard/Mel Bay and external Amazon API details for new items, then update the inventory file by adding or subtracting its contents from the existing inventory then writing it back to its directory as a newer inventory file, named "inventory-currentdate.xls". The program avoids editing fields other than those in the dropped file. Program-un-editable fields may have hand-edited data in them.
This project is 2/3 finished and should be picked up by a programmer experienced with writing for python and MacOSX.

Programmer's notes to be done:
-Add/subtract operations with a StockControl spreadsheet file against an existing inventory file. The function headers are there but not implemented. It's currently just reading in the whole StockControl file to create the initial inventory file while I was getting the catalog lookups working.
-Spreadsheet may be updated manually.
-A simple user interface so you don't have to mess with a command line or use hardcoded file names. Ideally, the GUI would allow for editing the database directly with drag and drop without manually editing the spreadsheet file and re-parsing it.
-Amazon API lookup of item details for items not in Hal Leonard/Mel Bay catalogs (searching by ISBN, unsure if it can search by UPC too). It's possible that there may be alternative services for ISBN lookup as well.
