The purpose of this project is to create a set of custom buttons in Autodesk Maya, arranged in a shelf, to automate common in-house actions. This will both increase the speed at which common tasks can be reproduced and allow members of our team who are inexperienced with Autodesk Maya to contribute to our pipeline without extensive training or supervision.
This project consists of two types of buttons: (1) buttons to automate the application of complex shades and (2) buttons to simplify import/export to other major software.
Note: A complete set of 32x32 pixel bitmap images has been included in the project files. These can be used as images for the shelf buttons.
-Tools must be organized into a custom shelf with easy-to-identify icons in an intuitive layout. A suggested layout is included in Figure 1.1 on page 4. Additional buttons or modifications to the suggested layout can be made in accordance with the freelancer’s judgment.
-Tools must be easy to apply even for those inexperienced with Maya, and one-click wherever possible.
-All files must work with Maya 2013 and above.
-Project files must come with easy-to-follow instillation instructions.
-Tool set must function on both Mac and PC.
Compensation: $30 an hour
Deadline: 2 weeks from hiring date to delivery of beta, then 1 week after receiving comments till delivery of final files. The project is not expected to take a full two weeks or three weeks time time, but the extra time is given to accommodate the freelancer’s schedule and other concurrent projects.
