We are currently looking for a design concept for a 3D side-scrolling mobile game based on one of our comics.
Attached you will find several extracts of our graphic novel "Ricky Starfield" which should serve as a guide for the overall look & feel of the mobile game assets. Additionally, you will also find a mock-up of one of the in-game levels. I should stress that this mock-up only serves to clarify the gameplay, not the graphic style we're looking for. Our aim is to make the in-game graphics fit with the comic graphics. We see a Cell or Toon Shading filter as one possibility, but we're not experienced enough in this field to know what the best route ahead is.
To clarify, the following screenshots show the general look & feel we are aiming at:
Samurai 2 vengeance (best example):
Dragon Ball Z:
The mobile game we want to develop can be characterized as a side-scrolling lander game where the player has to steer his ship past several obstacles. To proceed, the focus will be on solving puzzles rather than on action. Players will have to land their ship on specific landing pads and e.g. use the on-board gun to shoot at a lever or obstacle before being able to continue his journey.
For this job we would like to see our mock-up transformed in a 3D (side-view) equivalent with a number of assets (e.g. the player's ship, obstacles, etc.) optimized for mobile gaming.
