We are in need of a competent internet researcher to be on standby during the hours of 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm EST in the next couple of days. The research assistant will be expected to be highly versatile in his or her ability to quickly obtain various types information from publicly available internet sources. Basically, we are looking to test the effectiveness of having a personal assistant constantly in communication with a user by means of cellular communications. As such the research assistant must reside within the United States and be in possession of a mobile phone with a hands-free headset. Under ideal circumstances, the phone call will last the full three hours. The research assistant is responsible for any mobile-to-mobile costs that may be incurred if he or she does not have a cellular plan capable of accommodating the three-hour session.
The research assistant will be expected to remain on the phone call for the three-hour period, actively listening. When the research assistant is asked a question, he or she is expected to determine the answer to a fair amount of detail and communicate results. Communication during research is key and the researcher should expect a wide variety of questions.
For example, if asked about the current Secretary of the Treasury, the researcher should be able to give a short description of him within a minute. The use of Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers and other less credible sources is acceptable for the purposes of this project. In essence, we are trying to replicate a service known as KGB Answers with voice communication for added authenticity.
In exchange for services offered during the three-hour session, the research assistant will be paid $30.00.
