We are building a fun and exciting word game. The word game is a turn based, player vs player (PvP) mobile game. The game mechanics are similar to Words With Friends, Scramble With Friends, Letterpress, and Scrabble.
The game requires both a server application and mobile application. The mobile application will be developed for both Android and iOS devices. The project will require gameplay development, user accounts, Facebook integration, coin system, powerups, in-app notifications, tutorial system, and integrating with 3rd party advertising system. We require a ruby developer to develop the backend for the mobile app. There may also be opportunity to work on the mobile app.
+ You can write awesome code in at least 2 languages, one of which is Ruby.
+ Competent Git user
+ Good English skills, written and spoken. We will be using Google Hangout to communicate regularly for 2 way communication.
+ Developed or significantly contributed to the development of at least 2 live applications using Ruby on Rails.
B. Highly regarded
+ Integration experience with API’s and 3rd party services like Facebook, Paypal, AWS
+ You use “Git flow” or topic branches regularly
+ Knowledge of user experience and user interfaces.
+ “CI” means something to you.
+ You’ve deployed RoR applications to Heroku
+ You have work history on Odesk/Elance with at least 2 completed projects.
+ Experienced in freelancing and working remotely.
