We have a database server running Windows Server 2008R2, IIS 7 and SQL Server 2008R2 . Our database company has developed a landing page on the IIS server which gives login access to certain parts of the database. Currently it is accessed from the outside by going to the static IP address of the landing page through a rule in the firewall. We would like to 1) have the landing page go to an https:\www.mydomain.com\dblogin -- or something similiar - HTTPS certificate a must. 2) We would like to review the Active Directory security aspects of the user specified in IIS - which we has too many rights. We have access the database support people and they have a good knowledge of their database and SQL but don't support the IIS aspects. I have thorough knowledge of the internal network, applications, servers, etc. We also have someone that specializes with the Cisco firewall.
