In our effort to stay on the competitive edge, our company is going through substantial technological changes, including the utilization of SharePoint Foundation 2010 and InfoPath 2010. Our other capabilities include Development SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2.
We are looking to establish a working relationship with a partner who can assist us in development of a custom SharePoint site. Our initial objectives are:
•To create an organization tool, perhaps a list, that allows external documents that are submitted to be inventoried, to get approved and become ready and available for processing.
•To design an automated, real-time document tracking system of the inventoried files from the list that will support existing human processes of document review, through the use of predefined workflows. Our current document tracking system relies on manual data entry in a database for tracking our files. This leaves room for error, and does not give an accurate reading on the status of the documents.
•To auto-integrate our sub-reports to generate a final report using data extraction. Report Services might be a useful tool. Currently, we duplicate our efforts by manually integrating our sub-reports into a database record using data entry, which is then pulled to a Word Document template that generates our final report.
