We are looking for a freelancer or company to work with us to develop Magento based e-commerce sites within a 2 / 3 week period. You will be supplied with PSD final designs and the site must be identical in every way to the designs.
The successful company or applicant will be given 25% up front deposit and will be required to build the site on our development server during development we will keep pay close attention and any best practise or poor coding you will be immediately asked to stop work.
Deadlines will be set and for each day that the deadline is missed the agreed budget will be deducted $10, should changed to development be requested the deadline will be reviewed and extended.
If at any point you do not provide us with the quality of work we desire or cause any issues for us, we will terminate work with immediate effect.
We will ask that all sites are built around these specifications
Magento websites should be built using Magento Community, coupled with any necessary modules from Magento Connect.
At no point should the base Magento system be modified, we require full modularity in this case to allow for quick modification of any site-specific modules/ templates and system upgrades.
It should be possible to manage product information and stock levels entirely from the Magento back-end. In the event that a product makes use of a very specific use case – modularity for this should be built into the back-end to support it.
We do expect that you configure initial categories for any website, but we believe it is unlikely that additional code will be required to manage multiple product types and attributes.
At no point should product data be required to be manipulated by ourselves at the database level. We expect that sufficient tools are built that make use of the Magento API where appropriate. This is of course only where this may be required.
Importing of Product Data
We may ask you to import product data information and stock data from an external source. Magento does support product import functionality via its API. No code should be written in a fashion that may impede this process.
Theming and Site Building
Themes should be built into the standard Magento structure, favouring style rules over back-end configuration, unless elements are being hidden for security purposes.
Menus within any theme should never be hard-coded. They should be dynamic and configurable using the Magento backend. We do understand that you may wish to use a third-party menu management system. The important theme here is that menus should be maintainable from the website back-end.
Any developed theme should make use of the base product views where appropriate, if not extended ones – albeit styled. To this end, any product page, product listing page or search return page should be at feature parity with the Magento base theme. This should not be too difficult given that the view rules are followed.
Given that this is an e-commerce platform – you will be required to configure a payment gateway where appropriate.
It is expected that any system that you build for us using Magento will support 3 main user types:
• Customer (Buying Products)
• Stock and Product Management (Processing Orders and Adding Stock)
• Super Administrator (Full system control)
You must supply us with at least 5 examples of your best work. The successful applicant will be chosen within 1 week of this post
