Looking for experienced SCO Unix / VMWare guy who is able to configure legacy hardware to work with vmware as described below.
There is fully virtualized (in vmware ESXi) SCO Release 3.2V5.0.6 (open server) which is running without any problems. However we do require that mentioned host, due to legacy reasons, need access to very old PCI card. It is specialized communication card which is not easy to replace with something else.
During the booting SCO unix mentioned card called CP1613 is shown on HW configuration screen. However booting of the OS is delayed for a while and following message is shown:
dr_do_wait snid-769 what INIT_DR_ACK
The command hw -r pci is showing following:
VendorId: Siemens Nixdorf
Command: 0x0003 Memory enabled, I/O enabled
ClassCode: 0x020000 Ethernet controller
CacheLineSize: 8 32 bit words
HeaderType 0x00 Single-function, Standard encoding
BaseAddr: I/O 0x4000
InterruptLine: IRQ 11
The question is where is a problem - is VMWARE PassThru does not work properly or does SCO Unix have a problem to communicate with the card?
