We need an application to read ShadowProtect backup files and then create VMware VMDK disk files based upon the data in the ShadowProtect backup files. Additionally, each time a new incremental backup is captured, the application needs to incorporate the changes captured from the incremental backup and write them into the VMDK file(s). A single VMDK file should be created for each disk volume that is backed-up. The application should run as a service to monitor directories where the ShadowProtect files will be written to. Each time a new file is detected, the application will queue the changes to be written according to a customizable time-delay parameter. The software should have an SMTP alerting component where it can send an email alert, on a custom, configurable SMTP port to multiple recipients in the event of an error. Additionally, it should send a daily summary email informing which ShadowProtect files were successfully written into the VMDK. ## Deliverables - The software will be installed on multiple, different servers - The software must be able to monitor multiple "source" directories. These directories are where the backup files are written to. - Each source directory will receive a new backup file for each disk volume being backed up. Therefore, if a server has two volumes (for example a C: and a D: drive), then it will receive a backup file for each volume. For each volume backed-up, an individual VMDK must be created - For each source directory monitored, the software must be configurable to write the VMDK files into different destination locations. Therefore if 3 source directories are monitored, then 3 separate destinations must be configurable - The software must be able to write the VMDKs to one of 3 locations: o A local directory on the server that the software is running on o A network SMB directory accessible via a UNC path (i.e. [\\[login to view URL]\][1]...). If this option is selected, then fields for supplying network credentials must be configured in the software o Directly into a VMware ESXi 4.1 or 5.0 datastore. If this option is selected, then fields for supplying VMware credentials must be configured in the software - Each time a new backup file is written to a source directory, the software must detect the addition. Then, according to a time-delay setting in the software, once the time delay has been accomplished the software will update the VMDK file with the data contained in the new backup file - The time delay field should be configurable in minutes, with a maximum of 1440 minutes - The software should run as a service so that the vmdk creation process still runs without any need for the server to be logged-on or the application open - ShadowProtect will be installed on the servers where this application will be installed
