I want a plugin developed similar to “Broken Link Checker version 1.5.1”. I have used this plugin and noted several problems with the released version of “Broken Link Checker”, outlined below:
1. The plugin excessively loads the server, sometimes causing hang-ups.
2. The plugin, when activated, sometimes hangs. It gives no feedback to the user whether it is working or not.
3. The plugin does not work to identify 301 redirects, or check the redirected URL.
I use 301 redirects on several of my WordPress sites to shorten affiliate links. I use the Thesis Theme, which has built in tools to create 301 redirects. I make all of my 301 redirect pages “nofollow”, “noindex”, and “noarchive”. I also dis-allow comments and trackbacks on the 301 pages.
II have tried several versions of online broken link checkers and they do not check the 301 redirects.
The plugin should be an original work and the rights to the plugin and marketing will belong to New Meridian, International.
