Waikato Institute of Technology is in the process of upgrading their public website: http://www.wintec.ac.nz to a SharePoint Online site (Office 365 wave 15 instance).
The content needs to be manually migrated from static html pages to a SharePoint Online site, reformatted if necessary, documents and images uploaded and re-linked as the urls will change. It will be a real advantage if you have some SharePoint knowledge regarding maintaining content in any version of SharePoint, page layouts and templates. There will be SharePoint experts on hand to confer with however we'd like someone who can make good decisions about how the content will work best in SharePoint Online.
It is anticipated the work will involve copying the source html from the to the end of the page, pasting into a SharePoint Online page and doing all associated reformatting and relinking. You will be required to create the individual pages in the SharePoint Online site however the empty team sites will be created for you.
We will not be using page layouts to format the page, you will likely need to use tables and templates to format the data. You will be responsible for testing and ensuring the new page is formatted the same as the current page. Once happy with the formatting you will then pass the urls over to the project team testers who will complete quality assurance testing to ensure page formatting is correct; images & documents have been relinked etc.
There are 1876 html pages that need to be migrated. You can find them all on http://www.wintec.ac.nz. You will not be required to migrate and web forms, scripts or applications. These will be managed by the project team. You will only need to migrate static html, images and documents. We require the work to be completed as quickly as possible so scaling out to multiple people is desirable. We will ask you to provide a timeframe for how long this work will take you before making our final decision.
