-This application needs to run on the latest Mac OSX.
-You should have experience processing audio files. If you do, this will be a straight-forward project.
-When bidding on the project please give specific examples of similar work. The work should be done with Apple's SDK and we need commented source code with the final project.
The goal of the application is to Normalize 1000's of MP3 audio files of single words that were recorded in multiple languages. Normalize process will include adding a (1) standard silence length to the start and end of every recording (2) Standardizing the bit rate and (3) the volume. Once the files are Normalized they can be used in our software that we are producing.
We need a simple, one-window GUI program that:
-Has an area for settings that persist through closing the program. Settings are (1) Start-Silence (2) End-Silence (3) Bit rate (4) Volume (5) Output subdir. Start & End silence should accept integers as milliseconds. Bit rate should be options compatible with mp4's. Volume...not sure, looking for suggestions.
-A button to select a target directory. Target directory should be placed as subdir into current target directory. If subdir exists already, it should create a new one with numeric output ie. output, output2, output2, etc.
-A button to process the audio files in batch
-A scrolling log window showing the files being transformed. Log does not need to persist and should reset each time files set are processed.
The person who get awarded this project will show the ability to understand the problem, develop a solution and give advice towards getting the best result. If there is anything else that is needed to standardize MP3's, offer suggestions. I am not an expert on MP3 and audio file manipulation, but I do know I need a set of standards to have a good application.
