Embedding Excel sheet into Word document with merge cells

Project Description:
We need to produce a template invoice document docx that has an Amount Due merge field from a seperate data source. That field then has to be used in an embedded spreasheet that applies some simple If queries and calculations. Most the spreadsheet is hidden - but the output is shown in the word document. The challenge is how to merge data into the spreadsheet to perform the calculations on it.

On the attached file the green fields must be the same number.
