WD Smartware Unlock.exe reverse engineering

Hi,

I'm starting a small data recovery company and am looking to hire someone for a small project which I will pay $1,500 for a working application / solution.

The project is to do with Western Digital Smartware Unlock.exe software that will need to be reversed engineered so that you can unlock it with any password.
WD My Book Essentials & My Passports use this software and suffer from automatically setting an unknown user password if a faulty USB cable is used thus locking the user out. WD will not help and advise to reformat the drive which is no good as I am starting my data recovery business and dont get paid if I cant recover their files. The drives themselves use hardware encryption on the PCB which I know how to get around to recover the customers files.
The Unlock.exe is created as a virtual cd drive when the hard drive is inserted. This Unlock software will only run from the virtual cd but you can copy it so maybe there is a way around this as a stand alone exe file? Once the correct password entered you then have access to the data.
