Project Description:

For our most important customer we have to develop a customized XSL Stylesheet in order to render out a complete PDF volume. (Manual pages + Indexing)

We can supply (privately) a demo stylesheet took from other similar projects; it's a 9000+ rows XML file and it does contain a lot of information on how the source XML documents are structured and conform to complex XSD schemas. These XSD files may be supplied as well, because they are part of public domain specification.

Here the main duty is to locate the macro parts of this rendering process, cause we are in the needing to generalize the manul PDF publishing process at first. If you're good at technical documentation writing this will be considered a plus. So, for pratical reasons we are intentioned to base our solution on JAVA APACHE FOP as core PDF publishing thechnology.

Assume this is a project more oriented on producing a how-to guidance, instead of complete user-friendly application. So, as already stated, documentation skill would be really appreciate and would help the early project stages to get accomplished. We will require that the JAVA source code will be completely release and commented preferibly in JAVA-DOC format.

    it is not clear if you want t he entire solution developed as you mentioned its initial guidance(to your team?). bid might need to be refined based on exact work expecte.

Hello! I am a XML expert and work for Legal Directories Publishing Inc., TX. I have done alot of work similar to your requirements. I use to generate comples XML files including images from the databse and write FO for that. You will be provided with XML,XSL and rendered PDF's if you communicate furthur as they are highly confidential files and their propreitory. My work involves rendering upto 1700 pages pdf not lines. I can solution out stylesheets for any sort of requrements in days. I will use my own licenced renderers i.e RenderX,IBex or antenna house any one you suggest. One problem I have is that I used .Net platform for Data and XML generation and am not so convenient with Java. However even then I can work with a little more efforts. And if you provide me XML generated then this would not be an issue. less
