Developer needed for web and SMS project. The project is to develop a system for SMS text messaging to pull data from a website /database and send information to users.This is how it works:
1. A website has a database in which users can view and search for information online.
2. Users can also get the information from their mobile phone
3. A user sends an SMS text message to a phone number with commands and receives back information in a return SMS text message.
The service would essentially work almost exactly like Googles at: http://www.google.com/sms/
The developer must know how to develop using SMS messages and polling data from a database to send in the message.
When bidding for this project, include examples of other text messaging services you have worked on. Bids without previous examples of doing something similar to this project will be immediately denied. Also, do not bid until you visit the google website above and you are sure you can provide something similar.

Hi,
As thepro has said, your main expense would be to get an SMS aggregator with an HTTP API. Once user sends an sms, you receive an http message (something like when someone types in google.com on their browser & the google server receives the message). Processing that http message would be similar to writing a php script to do some stuff for you. similarly for sending data, you send a response to HTTP API & it would in turn send the sms. More like http response the browser recieves.
