Project Description:
Dear programmers,
I need a Word Macro (working in MS Word 2000, under WinXP) which puts a string into a document at cursor position (so far it is, of course, as easy as winking, and I could do this myself). The problem is, the string is to be taken from a Non-Microsoft application, more exactly, an Audio player (named "F4"). The string is the time counter of F4 (indicating at what hour-minute-second of a record we currently are). Conveniently, the counter appears not only in the F4 window itself, but also in the head bar of the Window (the blue bar where you grap and drag the window, and where the file name of the current file is shown), and therefore, it should be accessible quite easily. The text given in the head bar looks as follows:
f4 00:30:32-7 - And-here-the-file-name.mp3
What I want is, that, while writing in Word and listening to a record, at any moment I can hit a key or a shortcut to activate the Macro, and the Macro takes the text from this bar, does some string operations with it, so that the string is reduced/transformed to:
(0:30:32)
and enters this at cursor position in the word.doc which I am currently writing in.
Should be an easy task for any programmer who knows VBA.
(You need not care about opening the applications. Both Word and F4 are open already, when I intent to use this Macro)
I am looking forward to your offers.
