Project Description:

The general layout of this website will show a Google map of the University of Minnesota campus and surrounding neighborhoods that will allow users to click on specific houses and see complete rental information, pricing, availability, pictures, and landlord contact information. This website will incorporate Google Maps in order to display an overview of the University of Minnesota. Additionally, this page will provide users a search engine to narrow down the specific type of rental they are looking for (house, apartment, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, max price, and neighborhood).

An important factor in the success of this website will be identifying the user; therefore, in order to view detailed information about properties or post in the subleasing page, users will be required to create a login and provide basic information about themselves (name, email). By providing their email, users will be able to sign up to receive emails about new postings that meet their search requirements.

Additionally, this website will also contain a “Subleasing” page and a roommate finder. This subleasing page will allow students to post classifieds in search of people to sublease their current rental. Because these users will likely only be posting with our site once, they will be charged a small fee in order to post their classified. The roommate finder will allow users to post classifieds in search of potential roommates. The roommate finder will be a free service that the website will offer.
