Project Description:

Looking for developer to code simple android application that includes a database for vehicles with a VIN code scanner for automatic entry of vehicles. The default user interface will include a list of vehicles, with options to add/scan a vehicle delete, and update vehicle entry.

The application should utilize the android barcode scanner library for scanning and android built-in SQLite Database.

    Pretty simple java task, probably about $300 to $400 worth of work.

    Couple of questions:

    What version of Android are we targeting?
    Do you have a target screen resolution in mind, or a particular piece of hardware?

    With this info I should be able to whip together a sample quickly for ya. The application workflow seems simple enough. Do I understand it correctly:

    Scan to Add
    Scan to Delete
    Button to Delete
    Edit vehicle details.

    ZXing library should be fine for decoding the 17 digit Code 39 VIN barcodes.

    Could you please explain more of what you mean by "interfaces a website for decoding."

    I'm a full time Systems Engineer in the sales and manufacturing sector dealing with many java based applications for Android and Blackberry platforms. This will be a pretty simple slam dunk...
