Submit potential news

Project Budget (USD)
$15 / hr

Project Description:
Kenara, we discussed you completing 15 news items for the website www.newspebbles.com. I will pay $15 upfront for the work. Hopefully there will be more work after this.

Here is a complete description of the kinds of news we want:
We're trying to learn the kinds of news that regular people can share with others, so we are collecting brief (500 character) submissions of potential news. We want people to go to our website and submit information that you think might be news for others, and a location for that information.

It has to be real, and it can't be anything that's already been reported. You can submit information you see on social media sites, like Facebook and Twitter, if its true, and hasn't already been reported by news organizations. You may be asked for follow-up information on your submission.

Please give me a quote for 10 news items. We expect most people won't have news everyday, so this job might take a couple weeks to complete. If it goes well, we will want to make the job ongoing, so after you submit 10 items we will ask for 10 more.

We would like to hire multiple people for this job, and have them all submitting news items whenever they learn of them.

Here's a more complete description of what we're looking for:
Enter information that you think might be news for others, and a location for that information. It could be news for everyone (for example, "A fire is burning at a warehouse at Main and Side Streets in Ourtown, NE"), or just for a smaller group (for example, "The local 12-year-old travel baseball team from Thetown, CO turned a triple play today.").

DON'T SUBMIT ANYTHING THAT'S ALREADY IN THE NEWS (for example, don't submit a weather forecast, or something you saw on TV or an internet news site) UNLESS you can add your own information to it. For example, this is a good submission: "The water is flooding us bad here in Rapid City, South Dakota. The news says everyone has been removed to safety, but Larry and I are stuck here on Elm street. We screamed, but the police drove past us."

Please try to be specific with the location ("Dundalk, Maryland" is better than just "Maryland", and "Campbell High School, Dundalk MD", is best).

TO REPEAT: You MAY NOT submit something that's already in the news, and every entry MUST have a location.

More examples of good submissions are:

- My company (ABC Corp. in Seattle, WA) laid off 10 people yesterday because of poor revenues.

- The Fancy Food Truck will start coming around again on Saturdays in Altadena, California.

Examples of unacceptable submissions are:

- My friend just broke up with her boyfriend. (not interesting to even a local area, and no location given)

- My favorite professional team just won! (already covered by media organizations, and no location)

- I just saw a pig flying with wings (not true, and no location)
