Implement RSyslog with database and LogAnalyzer on Ubuntu ( with KDE or Xfce or GNOME )
-> Xubuntu is prefered <-
1) step by step instruction / description of installation and all plugins / packages in terminal mode
( Xubuntu , Rsyslog, databse ,graphical LogAnalyzer ) with server and clients
2) Scenario: implement 1 central server with at least 3 clients, show step by step config of server
and client
3) describe function of all plugins and samples and modules, ect. that you use
4) TEST RUNS:
create all kinds of traffic that is logged by Rsyslog in log files with database usage
then use graphical Analyzer to display them in a graphical way
VERY IMPORTANT PART:
make several such test runs and create presentation about test run of traffic to
show with graphical LogAnalyzer and implement some configuration that you can
do with the grapical LogAnalyzer
-I must be able to follow all of your instruction / description to install and configure everything
mention above by myself, as well.
-My Professor's description:
set up a complete rsyslog system with logging clients and a server,
with a back end database and visualizations. Documenting it
step-by-step, how to configure and use it
