We require a detailed comparative analysis, with some suggested best options, for the most tax-efficient base worldwide for Intellectual Property registration and management.
The scenario would be to register Design Patents, Copyright, and possibly Tredemarks on our product, and then immediately licence that to a manufacturer/distributor/seller. Our company would thus not require any manufacturing related fascilities. The licence would be for IP design applied to food appearance, prints, and ornaments etc, and would most likely be awarded to multinational food distributors.
Some of the factors in question are:
-The base for least taxes on royalties, capital gains, and dividends
-The base with the best treaties with the international community, where licencees would pay from
-Least restrictive exchange controls at base country
-Least onerous requirements for the IP owners and licencors in terms of residence requirements and geographical restrictions
-Best witholding tax laws
-Strong Intellectual Property integrity, ie: signee to international IP conventions for the above types of IP
-Base regime must be in good standing internationaly, ie: not on any blacklists for banking, and not daclared 'persona non grata'
Our own research so far has already covered the basic information available to the public on the internet, and so we respecfuly only require responses from those who have in-depth information and relevent experience with international tax laws and IP licencing.
Our search has covered the following regimes, and we welcome input as to their relative suitability:
Dubai, Ireland, Malta, Andorra, Belize, Vanuatu, Switzerland, Mauritius, Delaware, Bahamas, Caymans. We are also interested to hear of any other places which you feel merit attention.
We would prefer a report presented in such a way that it can be read
1.as a narrative treating each destination in turn according to the same criteria in the same order, and also
2.as a grid comparing destinations and criteria along column and line, with appropriate checks or short comments in the grid blocks.
Many thanks, please e-mail if you require any further info.
