We have a line of iPhone/iPad apps called iBird. These apps turn your iPhone into a digital field guide to birds. You can find out more about iBird at our web site ibird.com. Each app contains an "About this Product" screen which tells the story of how and why we created the app. I write these myself and try to make them interesting to read as well as insightful so our customers might understand the amount of care and thought that went into the app creation.
This particular product that I wrote an About page for is called iBird Journal. It's an unusual product in that it is not a field guide, but instead an app for birders to keep a record of the birds they have identified. This concept of recording sightings has different names but often is referred to as "listing" and the people that use these apps are referred to as "listers".
There is no single way to accomplish listing and so there are no standards or models for how such an app should work like there is for a field guide, which uses the printed book as a model to emulate. This writing the About iBird Journal page was a real challenge for me. I am happy with the overall results but at the same time feel its could be a lot smoother. So I am looking for a creative writer or editor to rewrite the page and make it flow better.
Unfortunately regardless of past experience I don't now any way to judge if someone can rewrite this in a way that I like. The only way I can know for sure is if they were to rewrite a tiny part of the document (like a paragraph or two) as an example of the style they would use for the entire page. Baring this approach if you have another way to convince me you are the right person for this job I will be happy to hear it.
