Project Description:
((Dear technically savvy Wikipedia editor,

This job would involve some research into a map of the city of Oxford in England, using the attached map, and adding a segment to 100 wikipedia entries.

You would have to compare the map with the names of the 100 most prominent graduates with an actual map of Oxford, and see which streets were named after whom, and then add a an "awards an honors" section to every one of the 100 biographies and add the following text. We would also ask you to embed the attached pdf as a graphic -in full quality- to each of the entries.))

--Awards and Honors-- ((only if this chapter heading doesn't exist yet, of course))

XZY was chosen by the University of Oxford, his alma mater, as one of its 100 most distinguished graduates from 10 centuries. For the cover of the 2011 Oxford University Prospectus, the 100 graduates had the streets of Oxford renamed in their honor. For XYZ it was ABC Street. The list included Duns Scotus, William of Ockham, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Saint Thomas More, John Locke, Adam Smith, Christopher Wren, Lawrence of Arabia, Oscar Wilde, J.R. Tolkien and living University members Rupert Murdoch, Bill Clinton, Stephen Hawking and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

((Obviously, when redacting the entry of the honoree in question, it would be important not to include them in the list.

We would like to work with an experienced Wikipedia editor, as we will have many more requests down the line, where we would like to build tables, and charts for awards our members have won etc.

Please quote us a price

Kind regards

RG))

You can copy/paste the exact same text into the existing Wikipedia articles, and would have to change only the name of the candidate in question, and -if the person you are editing happens to be one of the people listed- eliminate that name from the list (Duns Scotus, Stephen Hawking) etc.

Please write the identical text for every person.

Not sure if I'm being clear enough. Haven't posted on this site before. So, the tasks are:

1) look at the attachment. It contains a map of the center of the city of Oxford. Instead of the street names, however, are the names of the 100 most famous graduates.

2) Find a map of Oxford online, and make a list of what name of a famous graduate corresponds to what real street name.

3) Go to the wikipedia entry of the graduates, and copy/paste the text above into it, personalizing only the street name.

Hope that makes it clearer. It shouldn't be too much work, and you would be doing the University and Learning a good service.

((our team refined the phrasing of what should be copied into each section))

--Awards and Honors-- ((only if this chapter heading doesn't exist yet, of course))

In 2011, XZY was honored by the University of Oxford, his alma mater, as one of its 100 most distinguished members from 10 centuries. Other honorees include Duns Scotus, William of Ockham, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Saint Thomas More, John Locke, Adam Smith, Christopher Wren, Lawrence of Arabia, Oscar Wilde, J.R. Tolkien and living University members Rupert Murdoch, Bill Clinton, Stephen Hawking and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. For the cover of the 2011 Prospectus, Oxford University named 100 streets in Oxford historical center after these distinguished graduates. Soandso Street was renamed in XYZ's honor.

((Important: every name has to carry a link.
Important: every entry has to be accompanied by the pdf of the Prospectus.))

((am trying to make the text clearer and more precise, as the replies have shown me that what I wrote is not sufficient. You would be using the the text. We would ask you not include anything in double brackets in the text. Please follow the steps below:

(( 1- look at the pdf attachment. It contains a map of the center of the city of Oxford. Instead of the street names, however, are the names of the 100 most famous graduates.

2) Find a map of Oxford online, and make a list of what name of a famous graduate corresponds to what real street name.

3) Go to the WIKI entry for each of these 100 graduates, and copy/paste the text above into it, replacing only "XZY" and "Soandso" by the name and street respectively and creating the links as described below, and deleting everything in double brackets, and, if the name of the person whose entry you are editing happens to be Adam Smith or one of the others, you would have to delete him from the list of examples you are giving))

--Awards and Honors-- ((only if this or a similar chapter heading doesn't exist yet, of course))

In 2011, XZY ((XZY is to be replaced by the full name of the person whose WIKI entry this is, one of the 100 names on the map)) was honored by the University of Oxford ((please create a WIKI link to the University of Oxford WIKI page for "University of Oxford")), his alma mater, as one of its 100 most distinguished members from 10 centuries. Other honorees included Duns Scotus, William of Ockham, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Saint Thomas More, John Locke, Adam Smith, Christopher Wren, Lawrence of Arabia, Oscar Wilde, J.R.R. Tolkien and living University members Rupert Murdoch, Bill Clinton, Stephen Hawking and Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck ((all 14 names with links to their pages)). For the cover of the 2011 Prospectus, Oxford University named 100 streets in Oxford historical center after these graduates. Soandso Street was renamed for XZY ((full name of the person whose WIKI entry this is)).

(( 4- every entry has to be accompanied by the pdf of the Prospectus as a graphic. You may have to convert to jpg if you can't publish a pdf. I don't know enough about WIKI to, but either way, this should happen without loss of quality, as the writing on the scan is very tiny as it is. The caption should read:))

University of Oxford Undergraduate Prospectus 2011, scan of cover art

((and the source credited should be:))

University of Oxford Admissions Information Centre (admissions i), 55 Little Clarendon Street,
Oxford OX1 2HS.

((FYI, The prospectus is public domain. if you need to give a website for reference, use http://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/admissions_i/index.html. I don't know what WIKI asks you to list.

Please give me a sense in your reply that you understand these instructions and what this job entails. We have to make sure your work will be there forever and does not get deleted because of some technical/legal WIKI requirement that has not been fulfilled. And that it conforms to WIKI standards in every way. After you have done a couple of edits, we should chat to make sure that we are heading in the right direction on everything. Many thanks. RG.))
