concentrated loads as shown in Figure 1. The beam’s flexural rigidity, EI is constant
throughout.

1) Using the method of moment distribution determine the bending moments at
each support after completing 4 iterations. The self-weight of the structure may
be neglected.
2) Draw a neat sketch of the final bending moment diagram. Annotate the diagram
with key values.
3) Calculate the support reactions.

Deliverables
A succinct report 10 pages max showing full details of all calculations carried out.
