I'm urgent to know the most symbolic translation in Cherokee of a particular historic moment. Only had my family and I held onto our Cherokee roots, but in sorts it's a disgrace that we've let it go. The historic moment when Chief Powhatan spares John Smith because of Pocahontas' pleas. Translate with consideration for context: "Please Powhatan, spare him." If dialect plays a role, Cherokee dialect of their displacement to New Orleans or in 1607. I'm a nonprofit studies concentration and hold your site and cause in utmost thanks. Thank you.
Cherokee of the Carolinas, or New Orleans settlements after driven south. I understand Pocahontas was Algonquian, and the name Powhatan may have to remain in an Algonquian translation, but all Cherokee translation would be ideal even if the translation of "Chief" or "God" in Cherokee be the latter option.
Coming from the voice of Pocahontas, or her Cherokee equivalent.
Have proof of credibility, maybe even another reference that you consulted for this job to validate a proper translation.
But because of the urgency and lack of credibility anywhere else, I'd like the meanings and language preferences of this translation to stay intact.
