Hello. I'm Diogo, the CEO of an online English school based in Brazil.
Currently, we have about 500 teachers worldwide working online with students in simple virtual scenarios that we've built ourselves.
But now we are looking to accomplishing the following:
Have a simple but efficient 2.5D virtual city built for our school to be hosted on our new website. It's going to be used to real life situations simulation.
The city would include about 20 places (eg. a hotel, a hospital, a school, a mall, a bus station, a pub, some offices, an airport, etc)
This is NOT a complex MMORPG project, rather, it's a simple navigable city with login and password for teachers and students.
Three things we need inside the virtual world are: VOIP capabilities (low latency), students (users) management, and a (side) small whiteboard for collaboration.
The system should look and function pretty much like habbo.com, but as I said before, it's for a much simpler purpose.
As I said, we have over 500 teachers around the world, and about 15.000 students for the moment. So, the system should support over 300 different "sessions/classes" at the same time, because each teacher will access the world with their own students, but they are not supposed to be all seeing each other, that would be messy. I'm talking about separate sessions for each teacher with their students.
So it's a total of 1 outside/navigable virtual city and about 20 inside/walkable scenarios.
The new website of our school is going to be: www.fastvox.net (the design and photos are temporary, but you should visit it to have a better grasp of what we're trying to accomplish).
I'm looking forward to finding a team that will be able to build this virtual world (city) in a timely manner at the best cost possible.
